Heels

Get ready to dance in your hottest heels and celebrate your sensuality through movement! This class is open to all dancers and will include a warm-up, the essentials to proper heels technique and a spicy choreo! Drop-in friendly, a new choreo is worked on each week! Dancers are still welcome to participate in flat shoes or bare feet Heels must be bootie style or have straps of some kind (No slip-ons for safety!!) All footwear must be clean, indoor shoes.

Choreography

A two-part workshop series that dives into theory and practice of learning and creating choreography

PART 1: Learning Choreography Knox Harter breaks down the tools and techniques of watching, learning and embodying choreography and stylized movement. Sharpen your “pick-up” skills and learn how to not just memorize steps, but execute them with ease.

PART 2: Creating Choreography Based on her nearly two decades of experience as choreographer, Knox guides participants to building the structures to create dynamic and repeatable choreography. Previous dance or choreographic experience is not necessary.

Gogo-ing

A two part workshop series on how to become a gogo dancing pro!

PART 1: The Basics Knox Harter gives a brief history of gogo dancing in popular culture, then breaks down an “alphabet” of go-to moves, while incorporating each participant’s unique personality and sense of style.

PART 2: Drills Master the music, learn to think on your feet, and most importantly - entertain and HAVE FUN!

Costume and Burlesque Styling

Knox Harter breaks down her process of creating character, identity and allure with two session workshops covering basic elements of design, silhouette, style and functionality for burlesque. Participants are asked to bring a notebook and pen. Additional drawing materials are optional. For this workshop participants will be asked to bring their own basic sewing supplies (needle, thread, seam ripper) as well as any costume pieces they would like to have feedback on that are reasonable to bring to class.

PART 1: When You Have Money…

Learn the basics of trends and burlesque costume staples both past and present Analyze why certain elements of design are tried and true Learn how to refine and communicate ideas to a designer or costumer Learn about intention in design and how to navigate textiles

PART 2: ...When You Don’t

Learn some basic sewing stitches Learn about adhesives, which to use and when. Learn hacks and substitutions around creating usable burlesque costumes Learn about resources for starting your costuming journey!

Burlesque Level 2

Be part of a fun concept video!

urn up the heat as you explore new movements and refine your basics in a warm and supportive workshop atmosphere. Learn a sizzlin’ & saucy choreography with your group & create a fun concept video! Burlesque 2 is open to all who have completed Beginner Burlesque but please note, it is very popular and the groups are kept small for maximum learning.
